While everyone cheers for Earth Day, let me reminisce Earth Hour. A few weeks ago, I received a lovely Earth Hour press kit from Apivita Singapore. It was delivered to my work place while I was out for a break. When I came back, my colleague who received the package for me told me that he placed an incredibly fragrant paper bag on my desk.
True enough, as soon as I opened the paper bag which contained Apivita’s 100% Natural Wax scented candle, one of their best-selling products, I was greeted by an invigorating citrus scent. It’s a mix of pure essential oils: orange, cedarwood and clove; and it was divine. It’s how I half imagined Olympus, the home of the gods in Greek Mythology, to smell like.
Apivita does sound like it’s from the same book as Aphrodite, right?
Speaking of Greek Mythology, Apivita actually hails from Greece where most of its natural ingredients are sourced from. Its products are also free from parabens, silicone, propylene glycol, mineral oil and thanolamine. Apivita has been creating nature-inspired and holistic products since 1979 to promote health and beauty.
So why is it that no matter how much I love the scent, I refuse (and can’t) light up my Apivita candle?
1) First off, my rogue of a husband stole the candle because he also fell in love with the scent. And because I sort of ‘promised’ to buy him an aroma diffuser which I never got around to doing, I just let it pass. I can’t really light up what isn’t mine anymore, right?
2) I was told that I could use this candle as a hand lotion. I haven’t tried it although I sometimes sneakily use it like a perfume balm. And it works!
3) Even though this candle was given to me for free, I can’t bear to burn it. I just can’t. This retails for S$100 per 235gm or S$64 per 80gm which is how much I usually pay for my skincare products… which I definitely don’t burn. Thus, I’m very contented sniffing it and watching Hubby sniff it when he thinks I’m not looking.
Planting Marigold is in my to-do list
The fourth reason why I haven’t lit up my Apivita candle is because I’ve also been too busy trying to catch the sun recently. The Earth Hour press kit also included a sweet Marigold planting kit which I have been putting aside due to my schedule. I planned to plant it in time for Earth Day but, as always, life got in the way.
Oh well, we’re just a few days away from Saturday.
Where to find Apivita in Singapore? ION Orchard B3-45/46 and VivoCity 01-04
I may be weeks late for Earth Hour and a few hours for Earth Day… but I’m pretty sure I’ll never be too late for wishing us all ‘Happy Earth Day Every Day’!
