I’ve been a fan of cream and gel blushers for as long as I can remember due to their dewy and more natural finish. When I discovered Silk Naturals carries a range of extremely cheap cream blushers, I didn’t have any second thoughts getting myself a stick. I’m not a fan of anything shimmery so I got the Candy Apple Cream Blush that is so red it looked daunting at first. But it’s given me the most natural looking blush I’ve had in years!
Ingredients: Capric Capryllic Tryglycerides (fractionated coconut oil), Candelilla Wax. Also contains: Mica, FD&C Color
Naturally Blushing
The Candy Apple Cream Blush has become a staple in my makeup bag. I brought it with me to my trip to Beijing last year and included it in my 2012 Valentine’s Day Eco Beauty Must-Haves. The color, which is blood red, is suitable with almost every skin tone although people with paler skin might want to be extra careful as a small dot can go a long way. It’s highly pigmented and is perfect for achieving a nice, healthy-looking glow on the cheeks.
Can be used on the Lips Too
One of the things I love about this cream blush is that it can be used on the lips, too. I don’t usually use it as a lip tint but knowing that I can if I want to makes me love this product even more.
Staying Power Might be a Problem
But just like most cream blushes, the color fades off really fast especially on oily skin. Personally, I don’t mind having to retouch, though, since the stick is very small and can easily fit in my pocket. And unlike gel and liquid blush, this can be applied over foundation for retouch. This is my emergency fake-blush-after-a-quick-loo-break romantic date must-have. Too bad it starts to fade within an hour or two.
Toss of Keep?
At USD$4.50, this blush is a cheap treat. If you’re into natural and mineral cosmetics and like me, love the dewy and no-makeup (but with makeup!) look, I recommend that you give the Candy Apple Cream Blush a try next time you visit Silk Naturals.

i had a stila cream blush last time too but it didn’t last long on me. I find that powder blush stays longer than me compared to cream, which is quite strange to me as I have dry cheeks.
I guess cream blushes just fade off and dissolve on the skin very fast. Previously, I had one from MAC (i think) and I also had the same problems with the staying power.
So disappointing that it fades so fast, but at barely $5 can you blame it :/
This is a gorgeous color though, I’m so in love with candy apple and bright pink colors now but some are a little too bright. This looks like a happy medium.

Yeah, it’s a happy “medium” as long as you don’t apply too much. For this post, I had to over-apply as i found it hard to make the colors come out nicely in the pictures. But yeah, it’s so cheap so not much of neck-breaking risk.
It’s already close to Spring..so fast! This cream blush seems great all year long. It gives such a nice delicate glossy tint on the lips. I’m hoping the Silk Naturals Spring Collection will include more cream blushes.
Oh, the gloss is due to the lip gloss I applied on top. Hehe… my lips are really pale most of the time so without a bit of tint, I’ll look sick.
hi vivi..this blush is really looking nice on your skin..plz consider doing makeup videos ..i loved the way you applied this blush
Thanks, Nami. I’ll think deeply about it — hard to make makeup tutorials when I’m not showing my face. Also, I think makeup tutorials are better done through videos which would look so ridiculous if I record myself wearing a mask, haha!
