I was on a flight last Saturday and since it was a relatively unpopular schedule (midnight), I was quite sure lights would be dimmed throughout most of the trip to give passengers the chance to sleep. With few witnesses, most of them in snooze land while the rest, hopefully, had poor eye sight in the dark, I decided to finally do what I never had the guts to do for the last couple of times I was a plane: Do a face mask treatment.
I am not sure whether most women are as uncomfortable and paranoid as I am when it comes to performing skincare rituals on a plane. I always feared some passengers (and flight crew members) might see the act as over the top vanity and secretly snap photos or take videos of me and spread them online. Oh, the horror!
However, I was inspired to finally conquer my fear after watching the video “Phantom of the Plane” by one of my favorite YouTube Vloggers, Queenie Chan.
Although I still felt uncomfortable and I took out and prepared the mask as if I were unwrapping bomb paraphernalia on a plane, thanks to Queenie I had the courage to at least try… Err, I was only able to do eye masks, actually, and I wore dark shades to cover them up although it still stirred quite a fuss among some busybodies on board. But let’s all hope for the sake of my altitude-tortured skin that I’ll have the courage to try a full face mask next time around. Probably, I might even use hair rollers while I’m at it. Too much?
What’s the vainest thing you’ve done on a plane?

Interesting! Although I haven’t done anything vain while flying, except for the usual makeup touch-ups. And most of the time I take advantage of the quiet time and catch up on sleep
I usually just snooze away, too. Which unfortunately leaves me with puffy yet dry skin by the end of the trip. :X
wow, Vivi…you surely have the courage
I can never do it. and, I don’t take night flights but even a midnight flight has busybodies who look and stare at others!!!! seriously, they never sleep or what??? but, if I have to go for meeting a fren or anything, I do make a trip to the washroom after getting down from the plane.
Swati recently blogged..My Latest Haul
I will do a mask next time and take a photo!
Hahaha. They sleep but wake up very suddenly to snoop around when something ‘interesting’ happens. :p
